Not only a virtual treasure trove of great 70s rock, the set also covers the scene's 'new' talent, many of which managed to have big hit singles in the latter part of the 70s, such as Elvis Costello, Squeeze, Nick Lowe and The Stranglers - to name but a few! In covering Pub Rock from the mid-70s onwards, other musical styles also start to exert their influence on the acts featured, so there's also evidence of punk, new wave, the mod revival and even a little reggae in addition to huge helpings of straight-ahead classic rock, good old rock 'n' roll, rollicking RnB - and a dash of Brit soulfulness, of course.
